Complimentary activities at the Club for parents and children

Toddler Open Play
Every Monday, it’s a toddler free for all! The back of the basketball gym transforms into a kid haven filled with fun activities to keep your little one moving.
The more your child loves to move and play, the better, because the gym comes packed with playtime accessories. With tunnels, mini hoops, balls to play basketball and balance beams built for tots, bored is simply a five-letter word. “We range it from things that will help with their large motor skills to things that will help their fine motor skills like stacking cones or building with blocks,” said Youth Programs Coordinator Jillian Clark.
Adult supervision is required, but playtime is about more than the kids. Parents are encouraged to play with the toddlers, and the event is for them too.
“The parents end up connecting and building friendships,” said Jill. “Half of it is for the kids, but half is for the parents.”
We’ll provide the toys and activities, and you provide the energy! To get moving with your child, come to the back of the gym every Monday from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., through May 21.
Toddler open play takes a break on Dec. 19, Dec. 26, Jan. 16, Feb. 20 and April 19.
Story Time
Delve into interactive stories and let the characters come alive during the Club’s free story time every Friday from 2-2:30 p.m. through May 25 in the Kids’ Camp Room. Each week will bring a new theme for both children and parents to enjoy. “There’s going to be a lot of social interaction,” said Jill.
Story time is recommended for children 3 to 5 with adult supervision, but anyone is welcome to join! “At this age, they’re very attentive and want to work with you a lot,” said Jill. “I’m excited!”
Jill will read three to five stories at each meeting, choosing from themes such as animals, the ocean, holidays and even poetry. Word has it that there may even be singing and dancing with lots of creative play. “I’m excited to break the kids into a different setting,” she said.
If your child is a bookworm who loves fictional worlds and becoming part of the story, stop by and take advantage of these complimentary activities.
There will be no story time Nov. 25, Dec. 23, Dec. 30, Feb. 24 or April 13. For any questions about either of these programs, please contact Jillian Clark at jillianc@bellevueclub.com.
