| Summer social camps
and events
Deep-sea exploration, live animal encounters, pharaoh’s treasure. This summer, junior members will embark on a series of scientific adventures at the Bellevue Club that are anything but tame.
June 21-25, children ages 6 to 11 can leap into the wild on an adventure to investigate extreme plants and amazing animals at Go Wild camp. Build a nature kit complete with microscope, bug cage and binoculars, meet live animals face-to-face and study the deepest depths of the ocean at this fun, weeklong camp.
Later in the summer, young members will have a chance to explore the archeological side of science with the Mystery of the Pharoah’s Treasure camp. Kids will decipher hieroglyphics, investigate the secret of the sands and take home a share of the gold.
Besides science adventures, our manners expert, Barbara Bruske, will be holding two fun classes at the Club this month. Teddy and Me Manners is an interactive class for 4- to 6-year-olds that covers basic introductions and table manners. Children are welcome to bring their favorite stuffed animal. Yummy snacks will be included.
For the older kids ages 7-11, Barbara is hosting Social Fitness, an etiquette crash course that promotes confidence to succeed in school, relationships and life. The class covers introductions, table settings and table manners. Both classes are anything but stuffy, and run on Thursday, May 13.
Water World
Before tossing the boat keys to the kids this summer, make sure they have their state-required Boater Education Card. Fortunately, the Bellevue Club is making it easy for members by offering the required course on Saturday, May 22, 8 a.m-5 p.m.
