LOOKING AHEAD: Management Transition

Upfront PhotoOver the years, there are few members who haven’t been personally assisted by Beth Curtis, General Manager since 1988 and with the Club since we opened our doors in 1979. Since the very beginning, Beth’s door has literally always been open to any member who wants to talk. Her genuine warmth and concern for people has set the stage for the special place this is to enjoy.

Always receptive to member input, Beth has made many lifelong friends along the way. In addition, her steady hand and leadership has been a guiding influence through all the Club’s changes.

Although she recently announced her retirement as General Manager, her decades of experience are too valuable to lose. With this in mind, we’ve asked her to transition into a role as the Director of Membership Development and advisor on the Club’s Executive Committee. In these roles she will continue to work with members, membership development, special projects and community relations. Although Beth will be filling a different need at the Club, her door will still be open for members—she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Upfront PhotoWith this transition, we are pleased to welcome Brian Flaherty as our new General Manager. He brings to the Club a distinguished background in hospitality and a love of the northwest. He served as the General Manager of the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel, Hotel 1000 and most recently the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland. He lives on Mercer Island with his wife and two daughters.

The future is bright for the membership of the Bellevue Club. Our vision since the beginning has been to create a unique sense of belonging and a place where members can fully support healthier lives for themselves, families and friends. This transition is another step in that direction.
