Trick or Trump
Table tactics in Club bridge league
Nearly every week since the Bellevue Club first opened, a dedicated group of members have gathered for a card game where a nimble mind, subtle communication and a little bit of luck determine the difference between winning and losing.
“At least 12 of us have been playing for all these years,” says Barb Mitchell, chairwoman of Evening Social Bridge.
Nowadays, there’s a mix of new and familiar faces around the tables in the Ballroom every Monday.
“We welcome anyone who has played bridge,” says Barb. The group includes both men and women of all different ages.
As someone who has been playing for decades, Barb enjoys the unpredictability of each hand.
“It’s so challenging because every hand is different, every time you play,” she says.
For those who want to learn bridge, the Bellevue Club periodically holds beginner bridge workshops. To learn more about bridge at the Bellevue Club, contact social@bellevueclub.com or call 425.688.3384.
