THE AMAZING FACIAL. By Susan Shorett

Upfront PhotoIhave a confession to make. Don’t laugh, but I’ve been intently following several reality shows this season—and I’m not talking “Survivor” or “So You Think You Can Dance.” Lately, I’ve found myself indulging in “Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares” and “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover” with bated breath.

While I’m reluctant to admit that I’ve been hooked into the voyeuristic nature of reality-show drama, I had to ask myself why I’ve been drawn to those two shows in particular. I quickly came to the realization that both of these shows illustrate service-oriented, team-based industries, and how when things are bad in a service industry, they are really bad.

Predictably, the shows start out by identifying what’s wrong with the service, staff and organization. However, by the end of the show, the ailing services and teams are simplified, organized and poised for success.

As manager of The Spa at the Bellevue Club, I can safely say that we are not candidates for either reality show, and we’ve worked hard to create a well-organized, service-oriented environment. We have gathered a professional and experienced team who are committed to providing outstanding manicures, massages and facials to all our members and guests. In keeping with the idea of simplicity, we have updated our service menu so that it offers only the most advanced treatments in an attractive, easy-to-understand format.

In other Spa news, we recently introduced SkinCeuticals skin-care products and a host of unique gift items for any occasion. Also, we’re offering deep discounts to GPX members and personal training clients to promote overall wellness in our members’ lives. Look for specials of the month and hotel discounts as well.

If you are new to the Club, we welcome you to stop by, take a look and schedule an appointment with us. If you simply haven’t been to The Spa for a while, now is the time to come back in and see our new makeover—no reality-show drama necessary.
