New social director on the scene

When your social life revolves around art classes, sing-alongs and inflatable bouncy slides, the Bellevue Club is a dream come true. But what about the adults? Don’t they deserve a little fun once in a while?

Enter Kaarin Keil. The Bellevue Club’s new social director stands poised to help members connect at fun events. Most recently, Kaarin worked for the upscale Columbia Tower Club in downtown Seattle, putting on premier events such as the annual masquerade ball and monthly wine tastings.

In her first month at the Club, Kaarin has already scheduled a delectable wine mixer on Friday, Aug. 20. Don’t miss the chance to try a beautiful Syrah from the Rhone River Valley or a crisp Pinot Gris from Napa Valley, all while you nosh on perfectly paired appetizers created by Chef Paul Marks.

On Saturday, Aug. 28, Bellevue Club members will have the chance to check out member-owned classic and rare automobiles at the first ever Bellevue Club Car Show. View general categories spanning nearly every make and model. Bring the whole family and stroll amongst the classic chrome from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. There will also be mouth-watering, slow-cooked barbecue dishes available. To enter your car or motorcycle, e-mail social@ bellevueclub.com.

On Friday, Sept. 24, members are moving from grapes to grain with the first-ever Bellevue Club Whisky Dinner. Both single-malt aficionados and whisky neophytes will appreciate this in-depth exploration of fine Scotch with Ari Shapiro, one of only a dozen licensed Masters of Whisky in the United States. Once again, Chef Paul Marks has created a menu designed to bring out the nuances of both the whiskey and the dish.

Calling all Eastside fashionistas: the Fall Fashion Show is back on Friday, Oct. 1. Check out the latest eco-friendly styles from the hottest local and international designers as you sip cocktails by the runway. If you have a flair for the fashion-world, do not miss this fun event that benefits local nonprofit All About Hope.

Besides event planning, Kaarin is a native of Seattle who is passionate about photography and travel. She welcomes member input as the Club enters a new era of community events designed for adults to have fun and connect.

“I am excited to be a part of the Bellevue Club team. We’ve got such a great kids’ and family program here, but I plan on focusing on more adult activities, such as wine tastings, beer dinners, book events and business-networking mixers,” she says. “This is your Club and I want to make sure the activities you’re interested in are being represented.”

For more information on any event or to introduce yourself to Kaarin, call her at 688.3384 or e-mail social@ bellevueclub.com.
