PCAC B-ball Tournament
Club teams travel to Portland
The four athletic club powerhouses recently gathered for the annual
Pacific Coast Athletic Club Basketball Tournament in Portland. The Bellevue Club, Washington Athletic Club, Olympic Club of San Francisco and Multnomah Athletic Club of Portland faced off for bragging rights and the PCAC crown.
Despite the absence of key Bellevue Club players from the tournament, the masters (40 and up) and golden masters (50 and up) played hard-fought games against top-level competition. The tough field included former college and
NBA players, including former all-star Terry Porter playing for Multnomah.
For the golden masters, John Wilson and Brian Whiteside led the scoring, while Larry Applegate led the team in rebounds. For the masters, Jeff Garr and Sam Chapin led the team in scoring while Tony Kutch grabbed rebounds.
“We’re looking forward to coming back next year stronger than ever,” says Katie. The golden masters are traveling to the national tournament in Milwaukee at the end of April.
