FITNESS EXPANSION COMBINES INNOVATION AND ELBOW ROOM
Orange is En Vogue at the Bellevue Club.
Ignoring the latest trends from the runways of New York, the Club has been making a bold, year-round fashion statement with a full line of vibrant orange vests, cones and signs carefully adorning the grounds.
For more than a year, lively orange tones were seen everywhere. Those in-the-know most commonly accessorized with a white hard hat and a safety harness, or partnered the color with a muted, gray chain link fence.
But get ready to put away your orange reflective handbags because the Club will soon end its trendsetting construction fashion foray and, instead, move into a new era of fitness with the upcoming opening of the much-anticipated fitness expansion.
And, with its additional workout space, progressive technologies and natural aesthetics, the fitness expansion is so much more than a little extra elbow room.
  Why Go Anywhere Else?
When the new space opens, you can enjoy approximately 15,000 square feet of added fitness freedom. With an emphasis on natural lighting, user-friendly features and cutting-edge equipment, the expansion will dramatically enhance any workout experience at the Club.
Among the new rooms, a functional movement studio will allow for cardio and conditioning classes, as well as private training sessions. The new Pilates, Kinesis and yoga spaces have each been specifically designed to allow participants to experience movement to its fullest.
In addition, studios 3 and 4 will bring the latest in fitness equipment. Look for a new free-weight center that includes a variety of new weights and equipment such as a plate-loaded strength line. To unwind after your workout, there will also be a dedicated stretching area set aside on each floor.

Alongside the expansion, the gym received a special face lift with extra court space and a new surface on both the track and the court. For our youngest members, there is a special mini-gym within the gymnasium that includes basketball hoops specifically designed for children.
On a quieter note, the Library has nearly doubled in size for those looking for a peaceful place to meet with business associates, to work on a laptop or simply to socialize with friends.
Following is an in-depth look at the new space.

RACQUET SPORTS LEVEL
Racquetball, Squash, Multipurpose Room, Junior Activity Lounge, Kids’ Camp, Kids’ Corner
Adults aren’t the only ones who will benefit from the expansion. While the new fitness studios are limited to members 16 years of age and older, junior programs have also received a boost.
The new traverse wall is an 8-foot-by-16-foot horizontal climbing wall in the Kids’ Camp Room that challenges junior climbers with a variety of holds and colored routes.
If kids are looking for a place to hang out, a new Junior Activity Lounge will include interactive games such as a foosball and an air hockey table, as well as a flat-screen television and counter space for homework and laptops. The Multipurpose Room will feature more

class options, and—perhaps most important of all—there is a now a children’s restroom in the Kids’ Camp room.

EXPANSION FLOOR 1
Pilates, Kinesis, Yoga
Looking for a more contemplative experience? The new Yoga Studio can be heated for hot hatha and power vinyasa classes. Once opened, the Club will offer more class options and times than any other studio in the area.
If Pilates is your preference, enjoy improving your flexibility, strength and coordination in the inspired surroundings of the new Pilates Studio.
With its aesthetically pleasing design, the new Kinesis Studio perfectly complements the Club’s state-of-the-art

Kinesis wall. Carefully crafted by Technogym—exclusive fitness equipment supplier for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing—the Kinesis wall allows for a broad range of user and wellness needs.

EXPANSION FLOOR 2
Studio 2, Aerobics Studio, Studio 3
The renovated Aerobics Studio will include more choices for cardio, strength and conditioning classes. It will also be home to other new classes such as hip-hop dance, Nia and Zumba. The new Studio 3 will feature the latest in fitness equipment with ample space to accommodate nearly any workout preference.

Studio 4
With beautiful natural lighting and progressive workout equipment, Studio 4 has been carefully designed to meet your fitness needs. In addition, all of the new fitness spaces in the expansion feature dedicated stretching areas.

THE FUTURE OF FITNESS
As the construction dust clears and the last bit of scaffolding leaves the property, the Bellevue Club will be taking a step into a new era of fitness with innovative equipment and features alongside old favorites.

As one of the first in North America to feature the now widely used Technogym equipment, the Club is continuing to innovate by stocking the new space with the latest in fitness technology. Much of the new cardio equipment will sport the popular personal viewing screens with touch screen capabilities so you can catch up on the news while you sweat. Also, feel free to bring your own tunes and use the machines’ personal iPod dock.
Amongst the new equipment, the Cardio Wave allows the user to experience three movements in each stride, mimicking the movement of rollerblading or speed skating.
If you’re looking for even more ways to move, the new Adaptive Motion Trainers let you alter stride motions to simulate either an elliptical or stair stepping machine.
Not enough freedom for you? Virtually explore mountains in Peru or even outer space on the new additional Expresso Fitness bikes with interactive screens.
Moving even further into the future of fitness, the Bellevue Club will be one of the first to unveil the Power Plate. Stimulating the body’s natural response to vibration to activate muscle contractions, the Power Plate is currently utilized in the training facilities of professional sports teams.
Besides individual equipment pieces, the expansion will also include a Performance Lab that offers metabolic, fitness and biometric testing. Using the new Polar TriFit software, trained professionals can accurately assess your fitness level and body composition.
If all this sounds a little overwhelming, take heart because the Club is adding a new fitness service desk to help everyone get comfortable with the new space. Doubling the current service, the new desk will be available to schedule appointments, answer questions and set up equipment orientations, similar to the current Fitness Service Desk in Studio 1.

As the Bellevue Club enters a new era of fitness with the completion of the expansion, expect the same classic service and experience you’ve come to expect—only without the added dash of orange.
