View cowboys ride bulls and horses, watch a parade and more during the Ellensburg Rodeo, happening this year Aug. 29-Sept. 1. Held since 1923, this rodeo is now one of America’s top 25 professional rodeos, with more than 500 contestants and a quarter-million dollars in prize money. Starting Thursday, Aug. 28, with the Kittitas County Fair and Hall of Fame Banquet, the rodeo continues Friday through Sunday with the crowning of Miss Rodeo Washington 2009, PRCA Xtreme Bulls Event and various rodeo competitions.
