Enjoy the start of the 2007 holiday season at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. Tradition continues with the hotel’s tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 20, when the general manager will light the 25-foot noble fir. Also starting Nov. 20, there will be a gingerbread creation on display in the main lobby—see if it tops last year’s gingerbread replica of the hotel. And again this year, a local designer will create a Teddy Bear Suite (pictured is the 2006 suite), on display from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Nov. 21 to Dec. 26. The suite is a perfect place to take holiday photographs of the kids or grandchildren. Donations will be collected at the suite to benefit uncompensated care at Children’s Hospital. From Dec. 3-21, there will be a daily noon concert of local school and youth choirs in the main lobby. All these events are free. For more information, visit www.fairmont.com/seattle. |
