See how Liberty Orchards’ fruit and nut confections are made at the free Aplets & Cotlets factory tour in Cashmere, Wash. This Northwest candy company, which has been around since just after the turn of the 20th century, still produces their famous candy by hand, and visitors can see the process from nut sorting to packaging. Tours start every 20 minutes, seven days a week, from April through December. Tours run Monday through
Friday from January through March. At the end of the tour, participants get samples of Liberty Orchards’ candies and can purchase more at the Country Store. For more information, visit www.libertyorchards.com.
