Just when you thought it was safe to go back to a theme park again, Knott’s Scary Farm screams back for another year as the ghoulish granddaddy of Halloween celebrations. Now in its 32nd year, Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, again transforms itself into a theme park of ghoulish fright for the month of October. The Halloween Haunt features scary-fied versions of your favorite Knott’s rides—the Timber Mountain
Log Ride becomes Red Moon Massacre, for example. In addition, trek through haunted mazes and
haunted houses and witness nightly “hangings” in Calico Square. Younger kids can enjoy Camp Spooky,
which boasts “cheer instead of fear.” On weekends from Oct. 8-30, your little ones can participate in the Camp Spooky Halloween Treasure Hunt, using a map to search for pirate treasures like eye patches, bandanas, coins and more. Tykes can join the costume parade in the Camp Snoopy Theatre with the Peanuts gang or brave the high-seas surprises in Captain Jack’s Hideaway Adventure.
